The Canada Start-Up Visa Program provides a direct route to permanent residency for entrepreneurs and their families. Benefits include a high standard of living, access to affordable, high-quality education and healthcare, and the opportunity to live in vibrant, multicultural cities. Canada’s business environment is ideal for establishing companies with access to the entire North American market.
In addition to the business proposal, applicants must demonstrate English or French language proficiency at the CLB/IELTS 5 level, be in good health, and have no criminal record. Once the proposal is approved by a designated business organization, the applicant receives a letter of support and can proceed with the permanent residence application. Processing time for the Start-Up Visa Program ranges from 12 to 37 months.
The Quebec Investor Immigration Program provides an alternative pathway. To qualify, applicants must make a five-year interest-free investment of CAD 1 million guaranteed by the Government of Quebec, along with a non-refundable contribution of CAD 200,000 to Investissement Québec. Additionally, applicants must have at least two years of management experience within the last five years, a net worth of CAD 2 million, and a secondary school diploma equivalent to Quebec standards. French language proficiency at level 7 is also required.
Once approved, the Quebec Investor Program grants a work permit, leading to permanent residence after meeting the necessary requirements. Permanent residents must stay in Canada for two out of five years to maintain their status. The Quebec process typically takes 12 months for the initial work permit, followed by 12 additional months to secure permanent residency.
